Dear Bianca,
Thank you for all the kind words about my artwork.
I did have formal training in art, although it was as an illustrator. Through the years I’ve worked as an illustrator, a graphic designer, and now as a professional painter.
I could probably right a book about all the do’s and don’ts of starting an art business, and I hope to address many of these issues in my blog in the future. If you have any specific questions, let me know and I’d be happy to answer the best I can. Beyond that, there is one thing that I could tell you — I don’t know any successful artist who doesn’t work very hard, not only on his/her craft, but also getting their work out there. If you’re game for the work ahead, you should go for it! The world needs the work that artists do now more than ever.
It looks like you already have a great start with your shop, so keep up the good work, and please let me know how it’s going.
Warm wishes,
Nancy

Hello!

Wow, I just discovered your work via the Etsy Handpicked items page! I looked at your Etsy shop, then clicked over to your blog...

You have a really unique style of work, and I was amazed to read about how you create it - and to find that it is not digitally altered! Amazing!

Well done!
Have you done formal art studies? You mention having done some designing, which suggests perhaps you have done some studies in the past?

I am currently looking into taking my own hobbies more seriously, and getting back to my drawing/painting... My partner has been strongly encouraging me to do so, and to try to make a micro business from it. Any information, tips, comments, or personal experiences you could share with me would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for sharing your art with the world!!!!

Cheers,
Bianca (Australia)
