Welcome to Nowhere Here

"The Ship" by Cheol Yu Kim
You may have noticed some changes around here.
All you generous souls who have bookmarked or linked to my blog may be surprised to see a new blog in town. No, no — don’t go! You’re in the right place! Running With Scissors, my sweet baby blog, is no more. In its place is an all-grown-up blog: Nowhere Here.
There were a few reasons I wanted to make this move: Mainly, I wanted to switch from the free, hosted version of WordPress.com to hosting my own blog on WordPress.org. That got me thinking about the title. I always liked Running With Scissors — and I still think it would be a great title for a show — but I was facing some stiff Google competition with a book and movie of the same name!
Nowhere Here was a natural choice of name for me, and I have Rachael Faillace to thank!
Rachael is an artist herself and curator of the Mikhail Zakin Gallery, which is associated with the Art School at Old Church in Demarest, New Jersey. She invited me to do a show with Brooklyn-based artist Cheol Yu Kim — and titled it “Nowhere Here.”
I’ve always felt like Rachael’s enigmatic title captured my work so well — so I was delighted that when I told her I’d like to use Nowhere Here as the title for my new blog, she gave me her blessing!
So here’s to new beginnings!
