Ta Da! 
It feels so good to finish work and be able to post it on my blog. It’s like checking items off my to-do list. So it gives me great pleasure to introduce Sucratic System! It’s a 10-by-10-inch piece executed in acrylic and painted paper on a 2-inch-deep, cradeled panel. I worked on this piece for a very long time, in fact, I’m not quite sure what lies on the very first layer, so it’s very thick with layers and jam-packed with visual goodness!
I thought the final layering of purple looked like melted sugar when it’s pulled, or some sort of organic system of veins or nerves, I like how the purple draws you in, hopefully you’ll stay for a while!

New to the blogging world, there are many things I’m trying to sort out: I must confess I’m not a big blog reader (although that may change); I rarely have time to do my precious sudoku puzzles, let alone peruse blog posts. So I don’t have a clear idea of what, if anything, is expected of me. In the past few days, however, I have considered what my blog should be about and how often I should accost the world with it. Hence the following:
- I will try very hard to post every Monday and Wednesday.
- Topics will be: Inspiration; Shows; Events & Happenings; Things We Should Know; and (of course) New Work!
- I’d be a little foolish not to include “flexibility” into my blog plan. Every solid plan should have a good measure of it!

Daily Babble OK. Here’s the blank box. I suppose the blogger’s equivalent of a blank canvas. I’ve been nervous about how I would start my blog. It’s funny, I hadn’t really felt worried about the continuation, but the begining scared me. So I thought I’d lay it out on the table. And now it’s done!
Welcome to my blog; where I hope to share what I know about art, art making, the art world and things that inspire me. I hope to learn a lot, too. So please comment when you have something to say. I would like to remain true to the name “Running with Scissors” and avoid running at the mouth!
